So what is the solution for macOS ?

Currently, even Collabora Office  

Version : 6.4-20

Threads CPU : 8; OS : Mac OS X 11.2.3; UI Render : par défaut; VCL: osx; 
Locale : fr-FR (fr_FR.UTF-8); Langue IHM : fr-FR

fails to find a TB abook.mab file (even after pointing LO to the existence of
the Thunderbird.app bundle.

Furthermore, ODBC access to anything is also broken on macOS : bug 138990

Trying to use the Contacts.app as the datasource leads to repeatable crash /
recovery cycles : bug 126961

There is thus no solution for a Mac user to have access via LO to any of the
most commonly used addressbooks.

Proposed solutions on the back of a postage stamp.
