"Conversion bad"  is bad report by multiple accounts. 
You reported document problem and Bugzilla is not document but issue tracker,
where separate minimal samples are required. 
More, search before reporting is advised. 
So, 2 issues here, I guess both are already reported and duplicates. 

As for transparency, no need to mess with external tool, enough to open
exported PDF in LO and you see it's PDF fileopen problem, not Export issue. Pdf
opens five in other PDF viewers. 
Text parts are seen in other bugs too, Lo makes boxes and overlap. 

Sorry, I'll mark Invalid. Please search existing bugs on PDF fileopen.
