            Bug ID: 141877
Summary: Character styles lead to "tag soup"
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 7.0.5.2 release
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Writer
          Assignee: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
          Reporter: jimbo355113 at gmail.com

Description:
When inserting text in a sentence that's already styled, an invisible "hard"
tag is added.
It can be revealed by applying the "default" character style to that sentence.
It can be removed by highlighting the sentence and pressing Ctrl-M.

As bugs go, THIS IS HUGE, as it means that documents will gradually become ever
more bloated with invisible style faults.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a character style called ".BugTest" that applies an underline
font-effect.
2. Type a sentence, such as "The cat sat on the mat".
3. Apply the ".BugTest" style to the sentence.
4. Highlight and overwrite a word (e.g change cat to dog).
5. Highlight the sentence.
6. Apply the "Default Character Style".
7. Pick your jaw off the ground when you see that the word you changed (dog) is
still underlined.
8. Highlight the sentence and press Ctrl-M. This will remove the errant tag.

If you wish people to copy text from the About Screen, then I suggest you add a
