You say "You could link content of a database to a calc-sheet. It will be
refresh every time you reopen the Calc-document", but when I try that, Base
doesn't let me add new records. This is from the manual: "Calc or Excel
spreadsheets can also be used as the table source for databases. If, however, a
Calc spreadsheet is used, no editing of the table data is possible. If the Calc
document is still open, it will be write-protected."
