I like the expert config idea because:
-it is almost impossible for a user to set by mistake.
-it can be managed with a setting extension.

I have a setting extension that I add to all of my bibisects. It is easier than
trying to remember everything, and thus I have no qualms in deleting a user
profile during testing - I only have to remember to add my extension (and
Tip-Of-The-Days quickly reminds me if I forgot :-()
