I think you've missed the point...

Let's say I have LO open and it covers 1/2 of my screen.

I do something to summon one of these dialogues.

The dialogue appears on the other side of the screen.  I need to move the mouse
to it to use it.  I move the mouse, the dialogue disappears, I can't use it.  I
move the mouse back to the LO pane it doesn't matter if it reappears I still
cannot use it, every time my mouse crosses no-mans-land it vanishes.
