LibreOffice automatically suggests a cell range, provided that the spreadsheet
contains data. If the cell range already contains a function, you can combine
it with the new one to yield the function applied to the range data. [snip]

The phrase "you can combine" means: You can expand the suggested range to
include the cell(s) having formulas by using the blue square handles at any
corner of the suggested range.
