--- Comment #8 from John Murrell <Bug2020 at JohnMurrell.org.uk> ---
I can confirm I have the same problem - the password has been removed on a
text document that was previously password protected without requiring the
password. I first noticed it in the 'recent documents' view in Calc it shows
the first page of the document rather than the blank page one normally gets in
that view. The calc password protection still seems to be working.

The change password function is greyed out and even if I change the security
settings it will not allow a new password to be set. I have also tried resaving
the protected document under a new name and still the same problem - the
password protection no longer exists and it is not possible to set a new
password

To me this is a large security hole as it allows access to any password
protected ODT documents. It also demonstrates that however strong the password
encryption is it can easily be bypassed.
