A corrupt user profile...?!
Why would a user profile get corrupted? This is should never ever happen...
And: how can I tell if it is corrupted?

I have a portable installation (which prevents possible mixing between
versions; mixing versions may cause some problems...). I just unzipped the file
and started with 'Writer'. I hope that modifications in font, language (to
Canadian) and adding a handful (literally!) of words to the spelling dictionary
does not result in a 'corrupt user profile'.

The total profile size is about 2 Mb
The folder user\config\soffice.cfg contains a lot of subfolders but all these
are empty.

Asking me to "delete the user profile" and then "see if it happens again"
implies that:
- I need to make daily copies of the file that I am working on
- I need to inspect each and every file to check if images have gone missing
- I need to do this for an extensive amount of time (weeks/months)
I am sorry, but my employer does not pay/allow me to do this... I was hoping
that for unofficial documents I could use LibreOffice (I am *not* a fan of
MS-products), but if it cannot reliably save documents I cannot use it anymore.

BTW: that this event is rare does *NOT* imply that it can be ignored; it just
means that it may be more difficult to trap the error.

Note that this error has been present in earlier versions as well. And
"googling" for something like "libreoffice missing images after save" will give
more than 1 result.
