This just needs one of two things.
1. For languages where automatic conversion to/from <</>> exist, remove the
:<<: and :>>: from autoreplacement table (which is language-specific, as you
know).
or
2. Perform autoreplacement before other types of automatic corrections. This is
similar to tdf#132300, where currently non-breaking space is added according to
the language rules in front of : *before* the replacement table has a chance.
