Apart from hopelessly trying to convince gnome designers that icons make sense
in menus, there is a workaround (check
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=123265#c62) to solve this
frustrating issue. It works in Ubuntu 20.10 and LO 7.0.4.2.
