NEW 4.5 Click on the "List Styles" icon at top of Styles sidebar

It is possible.

I have updated the relevant guide recently.

https://help.libreoffice.org/7.2/en-US/text/swriter/guide/stylist_fromselect.html

The OP was:

New styles can't be added using the 'hamburger' menu in the styles sidebar for
frame/list styles

and I believe this is WFM (if the cursor is placed on a frame or list in the
document and list or frame is selected in sidebar)

But maybe this bug being hijacked or reformulated to the following (now written
out explicitly, because it might be an EasyHack) --

1. Always keep Styles action dropdown menu button enabled in the Styles Sidebar

2. Disable the "New Style from Selection" and "Update Selection" commands in
the Styles actions menu for three cases:
  (a) when "frame" is selected in sidebar, but cursor is not on a frame in
canvas,
  (b) when "list" is selected in sidebar, but cursor is not on a list in
canvas,
  (c) when "table" is selected in sidebar, but cursor is not on a table in
canvas,

3. Add a "New" or ("New Style") menu item, presumably working according to the
same principle, where the family would be determined by which icon was selected
at the top of the sidebar.

)

Is that the meaning of "do it" in comment 10? If so, then maybe the bug
summary should be changed.
