Bug ID: 139601
Summary: FORMATTING : No option to prevent cell text to
overflow next empty cell (except wrapping it)
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 7.0.3.1 release
Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: medium
Component: Calc
Assignee: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
Reporter: vincent.aurat at gmail.com
Description:
the only option i found to prevent the text in *a single line* to overflow the
cell in the right of it (because this is my direction of reading), is to wrap
text.
wrapping is not the solution as it adds the rest of text in a multiline form.
explained here :
https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/59578/prevent-text-overflow-in-other-cell/
i think this option is missing.
Steps to Reproduce:
1.typing a long text to have it longer than the width of a cell
2.press enter
Actual Results:
3.see it overflow the EMPTY cell just in the right of it.
4.search how to prevent overflow without wrapping it
5.be disappointed :-)
Expected Results:
having a checkbox in Properties /alignment panel and/or add an option in
"format cell..." popup.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
