Sounds reasonable. Would expect an edit field above the tree. If text is
entered there it filters the tree below (except the categories), for example

Images
 Foo.png
 Bar.png
OLE
Section
Headings
 1. Foo A
 1.1 Bar
 1.2 Baz
 2. Foo B

becomes 

[Fo  ]
Images
 Foo.png
OLE
Section
Headings
 1. Foo A
 2. Foo B
