LO Impress is laggy and slow when opening a presentation that has a very
complex theme. In my case the background of the slides is made with numerous
objects and transparency layers. This seems to slow down Impress significantly.

Try changing between slides and/or typing into the boxes to see how laggy it
is. Extremely often the whole application gives Not Responding message and
hangs.
CPU usage is above normal, around 25% for LO Impress only.

Use the attached file as a demo.
You can inspect the master slide to see the background theme for the slides.
