To be clear:
you do not want to upload files from Add attachment via File browse? 
I guess you may respond to this message from mail client and attach, just do
not quote. 
I assume files are not private, so you may send. 
Also when you say that. docx was produced on Microsoft machine, that should be
docx from MSO.
