Bug ID: 143325
Summary: Lost screen prints from odt file
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 7.1.2.2 release
Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
Reporter: lg7896-libre at usa.net
Description:
Since Oct 2020 I've kept a Writer file with screen clips of stock charts to
study price behavior. 83 pages. Landscape, usually one clip per page. Sometimes
I add drawings (arrows, lines, rectangles, text) onto/over the clip. Never any
problems. Other LO files open. Today -- in the middle of a session -- I lost
almost all of the screen clips. It still had the normal Writer text, drawings
-- and some old screen clips. I saw it when I switched to that window, and they
were gone. In place of the last one, I saw "Read error" where the upper left of
the clip had been. I closed LO and tried the file again. The "Read error"
message was gone, but still no clips. I rebooted the machine and tried again.
Still no charts. I was able to add another chart where I had planned to, and it
persists when I close/open LO. But all the other ones are still gone. (This is
a 64 bit Intel i7-10750H CPU, not AMD64 as in the Hardware menu.)
Actual Results:
No screen clips appear
Expected Results:
Screen clips should appear
Reproducible: Sometimes
User Profile Reset: Yes

The caption for "Version Information" could be "Click here for Version version
information". I just took a chance clicking the icon. When I take chances like
that, it doesn't always go well, so I like explicit instructions. I'm glad that
LO hasn't given me much cause to do this.
