Bug ID: 143414
Summary: Command-V on OS X does not paste in database table
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 7.1.3.2 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Base
Assignee: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
Reporter: libreoffice at herouth-maoz.name
Description:
When editing the contents of a table (adding new records) in a database, on a
Mac, the combinationg Command-V does not actually paste the string from the
clipboard. When tabbing to the next field, the pasted text disappears. Pasting
still works if selected from the contextual menu, but not using the standard
keyboard shortcut.
Note that the pasted text *appears* in the cell, but when tabbing to the next
cell, it disappears.
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Create a database - any database will do, but embedded Firebird is enough for
reproducing (the bug also exists in Postgresql native and via JDBC).
2.Create a table with two fields that allows editing. Using Tools>SQL, use
CREATE TABLE TEST_TABLE (F1 VARCHAR(100) PRIMARY KEY NOT NULL, F2 VARCHAR(100))
3.Close and reopen the database so that the table is visible.
4.Click on the table to open it for editing.
5.Copy a short text from somewhere else.
6.Use command-V to paste the text in field F1.
7.Tab to field F2.
Actual Results:
The text disappears. If you try to save the record (enter a value in F2 and
press return), you get an error message as there is a not-null constraint on
F1, proving that the text is not there.
Expected Results:
The text should not disappear. It should behave the same as when using the
contextual menu and selecting 'paste'.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: Yes
