Bug ID: 143553
Summary: The language setting is not retained for new words
added to a document
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 4.1 all versions
Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: LibreOffice
Assignee: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
Reporter: jhsullivan47 at gmail.com
Description:
When a Tools/Language/for paragraph or for all text is set and additions or
changes are made to the text, the spell check ignores the language that has
been set and uses instead the default language (US English, if I am using the
US International keyboard).
Steps to Reproduce:
To follow the example in which I experience the problem
1. Take any words in French in a document
2. Set Language for all text as French
3. Check that spell check is working for French
4. Add or insert new words into the text in French.
Actual Results:
Spell check as you go will highlight apparent errors. When you use Tools
Spelling, the new words will be checked against the default language instead of
French.
Expected Results:
It should recognise that the whole of the text chosen, be it a paragraph or all
text, text should be in the selected language (French in this case).
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
Additional Info:
As for the earliest version with this problem, I don't remember that it was
ever right. I am currently using:
Version: 7.0.5.2 (x64)
Build ID: 64390860c6cd0aca4beafafcfd84613dd9dfb63a
CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19041; UI render: Skia/Vulkan; VCL: win
Locale: en-GB (en_GB); UI: en-GB
Calc: threaded
