Not sure exactly what "workaround" you are describing, also I don't see much
benefit in reproducing a workaround.

Sorry, I don't know any developer on a personal level.  CC'ing people
individually on a specific bug should be done with caution, and I consider
adding meta bugs to "Blocks:" field adequate for attracting developers'
attention.

You can go to the QA team's [1] IRC or mailing list for additional help if
wish.
