Tormented by this bug as well. Xubuntu 20.04, 4k screen, 200% scaling.
Just updating you: none of the solutions mentioned above work for me.

Uninstalling libreoffice-gtk3 makes UI tiny and unusable.

Clicking low enough doesn't work.

      Doesn't work. Menu disappears.

>- a fast move down with the mouse (touchpad in my case) mostly 'catches' the menu and keeps it open, 
      Doesn't work. Menu disappears.

      Occasionally works, most often doesn't.

      They are not available (anymore?).
