--- Comment #8 from Regina Henschel <rb.henschel at t-online.de> ---
The wrong size is in the formula in config-item-set ooo:view-settings in
settings.xml. So the current rendered size corresponds to that setting. If you
change to edit mode and change something, the size is not adapted and the
formula is stretched into the old size. Only 'Orignal size' will repair it
then.
Other way round, if you first set 'Original size' and then go to edit mode,
the area of the formula will be displayed with scrollbar although 'AutoUpdate
display' is checked.

So there is still a problem how the hosting Calc application communicates with
the embedded OLE.

Tested with Version: 7.2.0.0.alpha1+ (x64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: e718f0e703c0fb33a0b1b5efe7b13b02c25f3335
CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19041; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: de-DE (en_US); UI: en-US
Calc: CL
