1. Open Writer
2. [Tools]->[Options] from the main menu
3. [LibreOffice Writer]->[Formatting Aids] in the left tree
4. on the right side, you will see two columns. see the section named "Direct
Cursor" in the second column.
5. uncheck "Direct cursor" checkbox
6. Click ok to close the dialog.
