Not happening in the grammar checker.

Rather, there is an autocorrect table entry ".*..." that will replace groupings
of three dots (Unicode U+002E) with the ellipsis (Unicode U+2026) that wouuld
interfere with the text input, and I guess the grammar checker.

Tools -> AutoCorrect -> AutoCorrect Options on the 'Replace' tab.

Select and 'Delete' it. Then check if you get the input needed.
