Please check the security settings of your operating system, which obviously
has been updated and may have introduced restrictions on accessing *and*
writing to certain directories. If you are on Windows, esp. check:

Windows Settings -> Update & Security -> Windows Security -> Virus & threat
protection -> Ransomware protection -> Controlled Folder Access
