No. A collapsed element would not be hidden. The collapsed state might look
like, say:

+------------------------------+
| [ > ] (What Cicero said)     |
+------------------------------+

and when you press the expansion widget, it might become:

+------------------------------+
| [ v ] "Lorem ipsum dolor sit |
| amet, consectetur adipiscing |
| elit, sed do eiusmod tempor  |
| incididunt ut labore et      |
| dolore magna aliqua."        |
+------------------------------+

with the expansion widget always visible. So not like hidden text at all. (But
I'm not saying this should necessarily be unavailable for inline use; I just
assume it will be more important for block'ish elements).
