Bug ID: 142269
Summary: PLEASETEST: Phantom page breaks when text flow
increases
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 7.0.5.2 release
Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
Reporter: sirtelly at ejgodwin.net
Description:
Changing the text length of any page (such as paragraph expansion, adding a
paragraph, or changing style heights) inserts phantom page breaks in the
displayed document, and the page count multiplies to 4 or 5 times what it
should be. If you save the document and reopen it, the page count winds back
down to a reasonable number, and the phantom page breaks are gone, but the page
count still isn't quite right. Note that the phantom page breaks only appear in
the "Glossary" portion of the document.
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open attached document.
2.Note the page count in the lower left corner (148). (Your page count may vary
if you don't have some of the fonts installed.)
3.In the navigator window, double-click on "Glossary".
4.Note that each glossary entry neatly follows the other, as designed in the
style for "1- Entry".
5.Double-click on "Introduction" in the navigator, and place your cursor after
the last period in the first paragraph (ending in "same year").
6.Hit the enter key three times, and watch the page count skyrocket until it
settles above 600.
7.In the navigator window, double-click on "Glossary" again. Note how every
page now has only one or two glossary entries on it, followed by a "phantom"
page break that is not in the document.
Actual Results:
Unwanted "phantom" page breaks in the display, wreaking havoc on the
formatting.
Expected Results:
Phantom/display-only page breaks appear, and the page count skyrockets. Saving
and reopening the file seems to correct the problem, but I noticed that the
page count did not go back to near what it was before.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: Yes
Additional Info:
Text flow should only add to the page count as necessary.
