Bug ID: 142424
Summary: Calc Chart x-Axis Formatting
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 6.4.7.2 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: medium
Component: Calc
Assignee: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
Reporter: john.beatty at talktalk.net
Description:
A suggestion for a minor change, rather than a "How do I?":
On an X-Y Scatter chart it is possible to change the axis scaling. If the x
axis, for example, is a time base with values to the nearest second, then the
edit box on the "Format Axis... > Scale" dialog is too short to contain the
date and the time, example attached. It is possible to resize the dialog, but
the box does not expand in line with this. It would be useful to have the whole
date and time visible.
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open a 'Calc' spreadsheet with two columns of data, 'date&time' and 'other'
2.Insert an X-Y scatter chart with date at time as the x axis
3.Edit the chart
4.Right click somewhere on the X axis and select 'Format Axis...'
5.Untick 'Minimum Automatic'
6. The edit box is too narrow to display both the date and the time
Actual Results:
Edit box is too narrow to display both the date and the time. If the dialog is
expanded, the edit box does not expand in step
Expected Results:
Either:
1. Edit box is wider, or
2. Edit box expands in line with dialog width
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
OpenGL enabled: Yes
Additional Info:
Either the edit box needs to be made wider (best) or the box needs to be
stretched when the dialog is enlarged.
