Bug ID: 144705
Summary: LibreOffice Writer and/or Calc show High CPU and "not
responding" in Windows 10 Task Manager
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 6.4 all versions
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: LibreOffice
Assignee: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
Reporter: ajc at tanda.f2s.com
Description:
After working for some time on Writer or Calc files, the program becomes
unresponsive.
Opening Task Manager shows LibreOffice is using CPU but intermittently shows
"Not responding".
Have to kill the process, reopen the program and recover the open files to
continue.
Did have the problem on LibreOffice V6. Tried upgrading to V7 to see if it
would be resolved - is not!
Problem occurs randomly, but usually after switching away from an open
Writer/Calc file for a few minutes or more.
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open Writer or Calc file
2.Do some work on it, including regular Saves
3.Switch away for some time
4.Try to switch back - if not responding, check in Task Manager for CPU usage
and "not responding"
5.Repeated in LibreOffice Safe Mode - same problem.
Actual Results:
When it happens, Writer/Calc window becomes unresponsive.
Expected Results:
Should have been able to return to the Wrier/Calc window and resume working on
the file.
Reproducible: Sometimes
User Profile Reset: Yes
