It does affect moving: it limits the moving to x, y or 45 degrees (diagonally).
Meaning it grabs the direction where you first start dragging the object and
locks it to that axis. Then you have to more pronouncedly move it to a
different direction to make it switch the locking. Try it out.</pre>
