This is a real bug and the corruption it introduces is likely a symptom and/or cause of a much wider disease. There has to come a point where you guys step back and realize that while these individual items don't rise to the level of alarming you, they're part of a much larger pattern (that the whole formatting UI is badly and embarrassing broken).
