<pre>@Bruce: hmm, I have my LibreOffice lang preferences set to French, and my my
macOS keyboard language set to French too.
If I open a new Writer document, type some text in English, and then try to
assign the en-US dictionary via the Spellchecker tool, the dropdown menu
repeatedly gets set back to French. This would be both a bug and a regression,
although possibly not the same thing as you are seeing ?</pre>
