The AMD HD6770M or the Intel HD3000, and what driver version(s). A run of dxdiag.exe should show where things are set now. With heat issues suspect it may be the AMD, but it could be the Intel on CPU die. Also, FIXED mode should only have been needed to do the driver updates.
