If I may add; even if there was some magic combination of settings that made LO usable, I doubt the average user considering switching to a free open source solution and trying LO out for the first time would likely be compelled to search for that magic combination before deciding they need to keep forking out money for a commercial office product. Their first impression of LO would be that it is a low quality product.
