There were different network issues, some of these are Linux, like <a class="bz_bug_link
          bz_status_RESOLVED  bz_closed"
   title="RESOLVED WORKSFORME - Can not open files on network - solved with libreoffice-gnome"
   href="show_bug.cgi?id=99667">Bug 99667</a>.
Windows had <a class="bz_bug_link
          bz_status_RESOLVED  bz_closed"
   title="RESOLVED FIXED - FILEOPEN SMB File claimed to be "Locked By Unknown User" when opened via double-click in Explorer if LO Explorer Shell Extensions are installed"
   href="show_bug.cgi?id=67534">bug 67534</a>. And some Netware like <a class="bz_bug_link
          bz_status_UNCONFIRMED "
   title="UNCONFIRMED - access denied network save"
   href="show_bug.cgi?id=81556">Bug 81556</a>.
But generally network works. You have to find why it doesn't in you case "(SMB
share or SFTP drive using ExpandDrive or MountainDuck)".</pre>
