When I want my page numbering to start with the first page that holds actual content after title page and table of content and I want page numbers on the page formatted like page page namber of pages pages always contains the total number of pages in the document. I now you have a title page two pages table of content and maybe an additional page table of figures this results in 4 additional pages. As a result the page numbering on the last page with let's say 9 pages content reads page 9 of 13 which is irritating for the reader. The only workaround currently known is to add a textmark at the last paragraph of the the content and use a page referenz to that textmark instead of the pages variable.
