"a media player" ... ? Which media player? Many media players have their own built-in codecs. DirectShow is not involved in that case. So using many players to test is not going to give useful results. I test with Windows Media Player (WMP). WMP is going to use the same codecs and splitters available to the operating system. If it plays in WMP, it should play in LibreOffice. Have you tested with Windows Media Player? Also I would like to see if you installing the same MainConcept encoding app that I have installed would solve the issue on your test system.
