As you know, ANY program has bugs, so is important IMHO to trace the document workflow if it's not natively created with the application in which you find some issue. I have some (bad) experiencies about this bugs that make a supposedly well generated file (on distinct formats of data) that really is not well formed and it gave headaches till I discover that were bugs in the software that created the file. So it's not curiosity, it's simply information that can help developers to consider other variables in the issue (in this case, could be not Writer related really).
