title="NEW - Small but noticeable lag when selecting shapes with sidebar enabled"
href="show_bug.cgi?id=105500">bug 105500. Something similar is happing in Impress (<a class="bz_bug_link

title="NEW - Clicking text or text box on macOS Sierra results in sluggish UI"

Disabling the sidebar should speed up things. Or using a LibreOffice version

https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/
My personal preference is LibO 4.3.7.2
