The way that I install fonts besides from using package manager is that I
simply download an archive like
<a href="https://www.fontsquirrel.com/fonts/download/nimbus-roman-no9-l">https://www.fontsquirrel.com/fonts/download/nimbus-roman-no9-l</a>
Then I extract the contents somewhere, double click the font file so it opens
the font viewer and click "Install" (you can select for the whole system or
only for your user). This is using KDE desktop.</pre>
