I have encountered the same problem.
1. Microsoft Word allows setting of an "Author" field in the Document
Properties.
2. It does not appear to be possible to edit this field in LibreOffice Writer
(i.e., I could not find a way).
Practical (problematic) consequence:
Observed behavior:
1. Export a document to PDF.
a. The Author name (set in Microsoft Word) is shown in the PDF Document
properties
b. The First/Last Name (set in LibreOffice User Data) is not shown.
2. Expected behavior: Either use User Data and/or allow possibility to edit
the "Author" field that Microsoft Word creates</pre>
