However, if I run libreoffice from the command line then dead keys will work. I have retrieved the environement variables from /proc/$pid/environement of each process and pasted them here (after doing a sort to ease comparison with diff tools) : <a href="https://www.diffchecker.com/e4gWwqBZ">https://www.diffchecker.com/e4gWwqBZ</a> What caught my attention was the difference in the language variables LC_ALL, LANGUAGE and LANG. Values like en_DZ.UTF-8 seemed false (I presume this should read "algerian english", which doesn't make sense ?) What I did is fix the langauge strings in .kde/env/setlocale.sh and restart my KDE session. Dead keys work again in libreoffice.
