For the GUI part after reading the comments I see that the sidebar implementation is preferred of chart styles. Can I get some documentation regarding how sidebar in libreoffice works. I see sidebar code in sfx2 and svx, though a bit more detail would help me with my proposal in understanding the capabilities of sidebar for this task.
