I think it's not related. The patch is about substituting the character and the font for the bullets. It's for pptx only and won't cause the whole master slide messed up. Note that when I open the saved .pptx in MS Office 2010, the master slide has the correct bullet.The master slide of the .ppt does not have correct master slide though. In this case I can't really judge if this a FILESAVE issue or a FILEOPEN bug.
