The idea in these reports is, to have a grid setting per document, with access in page properties and side bar. This idea would include, that the user can define the grid in a document template. And a setting per document would make the grid stick to the set values and not be changed by global settings. The global settings would only be uses for new documents, which are not based on a document template.
