The version now available on the website is 6.2.3, so I've downloaded and
installed that and the corresponding version of LibreOffice itself. Local help
now works, which seems to confirm that the problem was the US version of the
application looking for the US version of help when what was installed was the
GB version.

I would prefer to have the GB versions of both, but better the US application
with Help that works than any version with Help that doesn't work.</pre>
