Given Jan-Marek's <a href="show_bug.cgi?id=125925#c2">comment 2</a> this is probably not AppImage-specific, though. Please note that I used the kde5 VCL plugin for testing (which uses the Cairo rendering path), while you seem to be using the experimental qt5 one (QPainter rendering path).
