It's more to default to "Automatic" instead of "All Styles", which was suggested by Jay in <a class="bz_bug_link bz_status_NEW " title="NEW - Styles & Formatting deck is overpopulated with styles" href="show_bug.cgi?id=69551#c7">bug 69551 comment 7</a>. Remarkable is the discussion below - it's not clear that all users would benefit from a change. So my take here is duplicate; I like the idea to remember the selection and would keep this ticket open for just this.
