I can't reproduce this behaviour in LinuxMint 19.1 / LO 6.3.3.2 (de-de).
But I know this exact problem from Windows + Excel 2016:
As long as there is a "blinking line" (sorry, don't know the "professional"
term for this) around the selected - and copied - cells, the clipboard seems to
be write-locked so that other applications can only read from but not write to
the clipboard. Only when you return to Excel/Calc and press ESC key (= end this
"copy mode") the clipboard is "unlocked" again.
And: The problem only arises when selecting/copying CELLS, not single
letters/text within a cell.
Is this behaviour what you experience?
