I would guess that the network connection goes to sleep, and when it gets woken
up, the connection to the database file is lost. This might not be a
LibreOffice problem after all, but an OS issue, as the NAS or the OS you are
running on should not drop the network connection (but probably does for a
whole range of reasons, e.g energy saving, processor idling, etc).
There is no automatic reconnection to an embedded database context. This is a
known limitation of using databases within LibreOffice. Some database engines
allow you to specify an automatic reconnect in the event of a lost connection.
I don't know whether there is anywhere that you can specify such an automatic
reconnect or keep-alive instruction with regard to an embedded Firebird
database.</pre>
